Miami lost 1st place and the game to the Jets 21-16 at Joe Robbie Stadium. The crowd
was the loudest it has been. The 4th quarter had 4 turnovers. New York harassed Dan
Marino all night and he had a fumble late which ended the game for the Dolphins.
"They made more plays than we did tonight," defensive end Trace Amstrong said. "They
deserved to win this game."
"The offensive line did a good job of keeping our pass rush off of him," linebacker
Derrick Rodgers said. "We had some people there a couple of times, but we couldn't
haul him in."
"We've put ourselves in a hole," cornerback Sam Madison said. "We're going
to have to win out. We really hurt ourselves here tonight."
"We haven't accomplished anything," linebacker Bryan Cox said. "To be full of
ourselves would be an injustice. To me, Buffalo is the team to beat. This
game is already forgotten."
"This was another really tough game with the Dolphins and I thought we played really
well," New York coach Bill Parcells said. "I felt we had them a couple of times but
let them back in. This win gets us back into the tournament. We have to give our
players credit, going on the road, beating these guys in this atmosphere, it was a
tough task. This puts us in the tournament. That's one of the reasons
I'm in coaching. It's very satisfying."
